- If the source is temporarily rate-limited, the lookup degrades gracefully — try again shortly.

How accurate is IP geolocation?
It's approximate. Country is usually right; city can be off by a lot, especially for mobile, VPN, or datacenter IPs. It reflects where the IP is registered or routed, not a precise address.
Does it work for IPv6?
Yes. Enter an IPv6 address and you'll get the same location and network details where available.
Why does the location look like a datacenter?
Many IPs belong to hosting providers and clouds, so they geolocate to the provider's facility rather than an end user. The network/org field makes this clear.
Can I find someone's exact address from their IP?
No. IP geolocation gives an approximate area at best; it cannot reveal a person's street address.
